Restoring the Body of Christ

"Children of the Light ~ Children of the Day" 7/24/07

1Thess 5:5

Not simply a child of God, but showing maturity.

Giving evidence of the dignity our relationship to God, as a son/daughter.

A continual growing likeness to God’s character.

Light ~ "Phos"

Light of sun on a day.

Phos is never kindled, therefore never quenched.

How to be His child of boldness and security

Horse ~ need lessons?

Some have natural talent/ability to ride.

Some need lessons.

Lessons impart CONFIDENCE in your ability to ride.

Have same horse, 2 riders.

Rider 1 is not confident. Result is horrendous and dangerous ride.

Rider 2 is. Result is great and fun ride!

Some riders are terrified. Some riders are recklessly confident.

The horse picks up cues from the person he is with, and responds accordingly.

The horse often reacts in predictable ways for each person type.

Rusty vs. Prairie ~ My personal horse experiences…

Learning that consistent time spent is key to horsemanship.

What I believe about the horse becomes my "horse" reality.

My confidence, or lack of it, determines a large part of my success.

Recently my pastor shared that the spirits of rejection and fear were almost brothers.

There is a strong unity between the two and that they must be broken or they will overwhelm

and overtake all areas of our lives.

Like the purple roadside weed, Ironweed, harmless enough (even pretty) at first.

But soon it controls EVERYTHING on both sides of the highway!

If rejection is allowed in, he will bring fear (fear of rejection first ~ looking harmless enough)

But soon they control EVERYTHING in your life. Those two process everything around you!

You lose your ability to see, hear, speak, think and even breath.

Everything around you becomes tainted by the stain of rejection and fear.

You lose everything good, pure and noble in your life,

which ironically, makes room for significantly more amounts of rejection and fear!!

 Reject

(who do you look to for approval?)

Without place, to make void, nullify, disannul, cast off, break faith with,

Spit out, loathe, abominate

Approve ~ (do-kim-azo) to prove as with metals.

With a view to approve. Empowered to make a deliberate choice.

(suni-stemi) to set together, with and to stand,

to sit one with another by way of presenting and commending.

(a-podeik-numi) to point out, to exhibit forth, to show

proving by demonstration

Rejection and disapproval BREAKS apart things once united.

To move in the opposite spirit would be to accept and join.JOIN (kol-la-o) to glue or cement together, to unite, join firmly, cleave to,

Join oneself to, keep company with, to stick to, to yoke together

JOIN

Join oneself to, keep company with, to stick to, to yoke together

Lk 15:15 so he went and hired himself out to a citizen of that country, who sent him to his fields to feed pigs. (Lev 11:7 the pig, has a split hoof, completely divided. It is unclean for you)

Acts 5:12 the apostle performed many miraculous signs and wonders among the people… no one else dared join them, ever tho they were highly regarded by the people. (right after Ananias and Sapphira.. great fear seized the whole church and all who heard about it)

Acts 8:29 the Spirit told Philip, "Go to that chariot and stay near it."

Acts 10:38 you are well aware that it is against our law for a Jew to associate with a Gentileand visit him. But God has shown me that I should not call any man impure or unclean.

1 Cor 6:17 he who unites himself with the Lord is one with him in Spirit.

Luke 10:8 Enter and if you are welcomed, eat, heal and tell them "the Kingdom of God is near you".

When we are Joined to Him, He gives us authority to preach and heal. Preach AND heal AND..

The Bowling Ball.

3 holes in the ball ~ Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Our job is to throw the ball.

It may be a gutter ball. It may be a strike, a split or a spare.

Our job is to throw the ball, with the help of the 3 holes that our fingers fit into.

With practice, we gain confidence to throw that ball with power and accuracy.

And if all we do, when we throw, is knock ONE pin over, that is one pin down.

If we don’t throw the ball, we will never ever get a strike. So just throw it!

You don’t practice bowling by aiming at the pins. You practice by aiming at the marks in the lane. You learn to throw to the mark ~ throw through the mark. As you grow accurate there, in the lane, your strikes increase. So don’t look at the "pins" in your life, look at the mark. Aim and release the ball with confidence. Then don’t be surprised when you hear them shout, "STRIKE!"
